BOULDER, CO (CelebrityAccess) — Morrissey canceled a sold-out show at the Boulder Theater on Monday night after telling the audience one of his band members was too ill to perform.

According to the Denver Post, Morrissey took the stage approximately 15 minutes after the show was to start to tell the audience that keyboardist Gustavo Manzur had collapsed backstage, before the show.

“This is a family, we stay together, and we can’t move until we know what’s happened to him,” Morrissey told the crowd, per the post. “We’re going to sit backstage for awhile and wait to see what’s happened to him, if there’s any magical cure.”

Approximately 20 minutes later, the group's guitarist Jesse Tobias came on stage to provide an update, telling the crowd that Manzur had not recovered.

“Gustavo has not gotten better,” he said. “At this point, we’re not playing tonight. All of our heartfelt apologies. If anything, just say a prayer for our friend,” the Post reported.

A rep for the theater later confirmed the illness on the venue's social media via several tweets:

"Regretfully tonight's Morrissey show canceled to due to severe illness of a member of the band. Refunds available at point of purchase.

"We apologize for any inconvenience tonight's canceled Morrissey show may have caused and hope to announce a rescheduled date soon."

Morrissey is due to perform at McFarlin Auditorium in Dallas tonight. No word on if the show has been postponed. – Staff Writers
