It’s back and better than ever!
On a new night and new network, fans of the juggernaut docu-series, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta are in for a treat thanks to a new season of fresh new faces and stories around the aspirational lives of the elite boss women who have built their empires in Atlanta.
Beginning tonight (June 13), the new era of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta will commence as the original cast members are making comebacks after major setbacks.
“I’m looking forward to the journey [we’re taking our fans on,]” Rasheeda Frost tells Celeb Secrets reporter Jasmine Vazquez exclusively during a virtual junket. “I think people — especially married couples — will be able to grasp onto the ups and downs of marriages and the communication barriers… Especially when it comes to a husband and wife who actually have businesses together and work together. To navigate that is difficult.”
Throughout the season, the Queen of Dancehall Spice fights for her life after a near fatal surgery following her recent Grammy® nomination; Erica Mena leaves behind her heartbreak and divorce with Safaree as she ignites her movie star career; Bambi officially files for divorce against Scrappy as she pursues her rap career; Rasheeda is revamping Frost Bistro into a hot new brunch venue; Yandy struggles to balance success in her household as her businesses explode, taking over Underground ATL with her successful restaurant Dancin’ Crepe and increasing shelf space with her international cosmetic line.
“What’s my reality and real life without showing what really happened to me so you’ll definitely be taking that walk and that journey with me.” Spice says. “I managed to escape death and I don’t take it lightly. I’ve been to a near death experience and I’m just grateful to God. Everyday I give Him thanks that I’m able to be here.”
Fresh faces Erica Banks, Amy Luciani, and Jessica White are joining the franchise and they’re coming in hot looking to prove themselves as the next big musicians rising out of Atlanta. Everyone will be put to the test this season as the addition of the new cast members cause changes in allegiances and longtime friendships to be tested and evaluated all while being vulnerable and showcasing their strengths as they endure major life changes.
But aside from all the juicy moments, Rasheeda says this season will showcase a lot of vulnerability and challenges between many of the women and within their personal lives.
“We always have different things going on stepping out there just trying to not stay complacent but knowing we want to constantly keep moving, keep inspiring, and at the same time just be better than we were yesterday.”
