“Black-ish” star Marsai Martin is set to play “POWER” star Omari Hardwick’s daughter in the upcoming Paramount+ movie, “FANTASY FOOTBALL.” Martin and Hardwick will also be joined by former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland with the film set to release on the streaming giant on November 25th.
The film will take place in Atlanta and follow the life of Atlanta Falcons running back “Bobby Coleman” played by Hardwick. From one day to another, Coleman’s daughter, “Callie,” played by Martin, finds out she can control how her dad plays on the field through the EA Sports Madden NFL 23 video game. When this occurs, Callie turns her father’s career upside down, and he goes from a below-average running back to one of the best in the league.
The film is produced by Martin and her family and “The SpringHill Company”, which belongs to NBA superstar LeBron James and his agent Rich Paul.
As the regular season ends, Callie and Bobby must be ready for the playoffs, but Callie has to decide between helping her dad or helping her robotics team out at school.
This family sports comedy will pull heartstrings as well as give us some smiles and laughs while at the same time being a movie filled with lots of life lessons.
